For Families
Supporting Your Loved One Every Step of the Way
Choosing the right supported living provider is one of the most important decisions you'll make. At Golden Care Group, we understand that every person is unique, which is why we take the time to get to know each individual, their goals, their routines and what matters most to them..
Our experienced and compassionate team provides person-centred support that promotes independence, builds confidence and helps people live fulfilling lives within their own home and community.
What Supported Living Means
Many families are unsure what supported living actually involves.
Supported living allows people to live in their own home while receiving the level of support they need to live safely, independently and confidently. Support is tailored to each individual and can range from a few hours a week to 24-hour care, depending on their needs.
Our goal is to empower people to make their own choices, develop life skills and enjoy meaningful lives whilst remaining in control of the support they receive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I visit the property before making a decision?
Absolutely. We encourage prospective residents, families and professionals to visit our services before making any decisions. This gives you the opportunity to view the accommodation, meet our team, ask questions and get a feel for the environment to ensure it’s the right fit.
Will my family member have their own tenancy?
Yes. Supported living is designed to help people live as independently as possible. Each individual has their own tenancy agreement and the same rights and responsibilities as anyone living in their own home, with support tailored to their needs.
Can support be increased if needs change?
Yes. We understand that people’s needs can change over time. Support is regularly reviewed in partnership with the individual, their family and professionals, and can be adjusted where appropriate to ensure they continue to receive the right level of support.
Do you offer self-contained flats as well as shared homes?
Yes. We offer a range of supported living options, including self-contained flats and small shared homes. We’ll work with you and the funding authority to identify the most suitable accommodation based on the individual’s needs, preferences and long-term goals.
How do you make sure residents are compatible?
Compatibility is one of the most important factors in creating a successful home. Before any placement, we carry out a comprehensive compatibility assessment, considering personalities, support needs, lifestyles, communication styles and shared interests to help create a safe, positive and stable living environment.
How do you match people to a home?
We take the time to get to know each individual, understanding their needs, goals, preferences and what is important to them. We then carefully consider the available accommodation, existing residents and support arrangements to ensure the placement is the right fit for everyone involved.
Can you support with employment, education or volunteering?
Absolutely. We believe meaningful occupation plays an important role in promoting independence and wellbeing. Our team can support individuals to explore employment opportunities, access education or training, volunteer within their local community and develop the skills needed to achieve their personal goals.
What activities and community opportunities are available?
Support is tailored to each individual’s interests and aspirations. This may include accessing local clubs and groups, shopping, sports and leisure activities, attending college, volunteering, visiting friends and family, holidays, or simply developing the confidence to enjoy everyday life within their community.
How do you support people with complex needs or behaviours of concern?
Our experienced team provides specialist, person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs. Working alongside our in-house Clinical Lead, we use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and proactive strategies to understand behaviours, reduce risks and improve quality of life. Every support plan is designed to promote independence while ensuring the individual feels safe, respected and supported.
How do I make a referral?
Making a referral is simple. You can contact our team directly by telephone or email to discuss your circumstances, or referrals can be made through local authorities, NHS teams and other professionals. We’ll guide you through each stage of the process, from the initial enquiry and assessment through to finding the right home and support package.
